Kitchen Design tips:

  • Designers often refer to the “kitchen work triangle” when planning their layouts. This concept attempts to maximise the efficiency of food preparation by positioning the three major features - the sink, the oven and the refrigerator in an imaginary triangle layout.
  • If possible the sides of this triangle should be between 1.2 and 2.7m long.
  • There should be a work area for food preparation of at least 1m on either side of the sink
  • Ensure plenty of light: washing and preparing food should be a pleasure in a bright and airy space
